I had yet another person actually ask me to take picutures of their kids.

Me? I thought.

Yeah, I was delighted and jumped at the opportunity.

The Newborn

Wow, those newborn photoshoots are not nearly as easy as they look.

I scroll through the works of other newborn photographers for inspiration thinking, I can totally do THAT!!

Then, there I am, taking pictures of that precious little baby... wondering if any of the pictures I am taking are even turning out.

Granted, I am rather hard on myself as I am my own hardest critic, but none-the-less, I am lucky to get only ONE, or on a good day, maybe TWO that I kinda like.

So, here's the deal...

Keep having babies (you, NOT me) so that I can keep practicing.

I hear, practicing makes perfect.

Action Shots

When I look at the work of other photographers, I notice that a lot of pictures are highly photoshopped these days. Photoshop can make a great picture look amazing with the right effects.

I have been rather green with envy lately at:

1. Those who actually know how to utilize photoshop for making these changes to their photos

2. Those with the full version of PS5 who are able to utilize the free actions on the Pioneer Woman's blog.

UNTIL NOW!!

I may still not know how to fully use and understand my skimpy little version of Photoshop Elements but the Pioneer Woman has converted her actions for PSE!!

Can I get a "Woooo HOOOOOO!"?

Beach Bum

Ok, so I am a big fat liar! I really had great intentions of posting daily pictures but seemed to have failed in my attempt.

I have been super busy with TWO kids, surviving the stomach flu, riding trains, celebrating the 4th, and lounging at the beach.

However, I have been adoring this picture for a few days now. What do you think?

Day 2

I almost missed my second day of this whole post a picture a day thing. I ran errands all morning then came down with a serious sore throat and spent most of the evening in bed. Needless to say, I didn't take any pictures today. So, I am going to post one of my most recent favorites that I took last week at Bass Lake.

A Picture a Day

So, I am going to try something new... I am going to try to post a picture a day to my photography blog. I am going to try to challenge myself to take pictures of different things from different perspectives, granted most of them will probably be of my kids. But, I want to better my photography skills and the only way to do that is to start taking more pictures.
